Ishmael Bernal’s first feature film Pagdating sa Dulo will be screened on October 8, 2009 (Thursday) at Fully Booked High Street. 8-10:30pm. Preceding it will be Cesar Hernando’s short film Kagat ng Dilim starring Piolo Pascual. GO!

A taxi dancer (Rita Gomez) and a taxi driver (Vic Vargas) are fished out of poverty and anonymity by a serious film director (Eddie Garcia) and a commercial film director (Joonee Gamboa) with their producers (Zeneida Amador and Subas Herrero). The obsession of success forces them to affect images as movie stars, which suppress and eventually destroy them as persons and as lovers.

Pagdating sa Dulo is the first film by National Artist Ishmael Bernal who eventually made 51 full-length films. He also made several documentaries for Ibon Foundation. Pagdating sa Dulo won Famas award for best screenplay.

Based on a true account about a group of Huk guerrillas in Sierra Madre mountains that fall prey, one by one, to an invisible enemy. The Huks who are killed are found to have bite marks on their necks leading to talk that they were slain by aswang (vampire).
