AN INDEPENDENCE DAY ANTHEM FROM UNO

June 12, 2010

“No Future sa Pader” by The Urban Bandits from the album, Independence Day (TRC-04. 1985)

Fronted by local punk icon Arnold Morales, The Urban Bandits were perhaps the greatest of the local punk outfits that grew out of Tommy Tanchanco’s Brave New World series of concerts in the 1980’s and its subsequent independent label, Twisted Red Cross. This punk anthem appeared in the TRC release, ‘Independence Day’. A true classic and still blisters with seething rage, an acute intelligence that’s still unmatched today. Here it  here.
