This February, UNO falls in love with Heart Evangelista, our stunningly beautiful cover girl. Inside, QC Mayor Herbert Bautista talks to us about the one that got away (none other than Lea Salonga, as it turns out); we tell the true story behind Danica Magpantay, who recently became the first Filipina to win the Ford Supermodel of the World contest; and we eat chocolate with the lovely and charming Chia Hollman Yulo.
Also: Eight of our favorite women tell us what men should know about love. We feature exclusive interviews with international bands The National and Anberlin, and give the lowdown on the upcoming album from local sensation Taken By Cars. We interview our favorite creative couples, from Arnold and Cynthia Arre to Pete Lacaba and Marra Lanot. We talk about the devastating loss of the one you love, with Rene Saguisag and Risa Hontiveros. We kick off our kick-ass advice column for the confused: Gangster of Love.
We also feature two stories about love, with writing by Luis Katigbak and photography by Kidlat de Guia. And finally, we learn all about love from acclaimed filmmaker Lav Diaz, who gets the last word.

No wonder that the volume of motorcycles in the country has almost tripled in the past years, an indication that there is no other way for the two-wheelers but to multiply.
And with the introduction of more exciting, sporty, fuel efficient and environment-friendly motorcycles in the local market, what else can the motorbike enthusiasts ask for?
Adding spice to the already hot and tight motorcycle competition is Honda Philippines’ new breed, the Honda CBR 150R, that stands out on its super sports design and styling almost identical with the world motorbike champion Honda CBR 1000RR.
In pioneering on the light sports motorbike design such as the new Honda CBR 150R, motorcycle riders will now be hesitant in infusing modification units such as altering handle bars, changing exhaust pipes, installing wider tires, upgrading brake systems, etc. that compromise riding safety. In the new Honda CBR 150R, the sporty characteristics that a rider needs are “all in.”
Starting with its attractive full body cowling, the Honda CBR 150R can easily be mistaken as the CBR 1000RR minus the Repsol decals if viewed from a distance from all angles. The sleek designed rider and tandem seat and bold tank shape are identical to its Big Brother CBR 1000RR.
The combination headlights and aerodynamic wind deflector matches with sporty mirrors give the impression that this machine is ready to race.
From its rear, there is the chic tail and signal lights mounted on fender that is endowed with separate hand grips for easy lifting on tight areas. Near the chain drive is another stunning feature, a compact sized exhaust pipe that was once accorded only to premium sport bikes with big engines.
Along with the sporty handle bars, the Honda CBR 150R boasts of its new digital meter composed of illuminated LCD dial featuring fuel level, odometer, digital clock and an equally important temperature gauge.
Squeezing in traffic is no problem. The Honda CBR’s 150cc, DOHC-engine is acclimatized for tropical countries like the Philippines since it is equipped with a liquid cooled system with an auxiliary fan against overheating.
Its fuel management system is endowed with a high tech PGM-FI (fuel injection) system to ensure good combustion, efficient fuel distribution and environment-friendly Euro-3 emission compliance. Its fuel efficiency provide 63 kilometers- to-a-litre consumption at 50kph with its 13 litre six-speed engine.
Zeroing in on the Honda CBR 150R’s stopping power, every rider will experience a different feel of riding confidence with its double cylinder front disc brake and equally dependable rear disc brake.
Cornering with the CBR 150R is always an exhilarating experience as the uniquely-crafted black pentagon frame that is pampered with a mono shock rear suspension offer better stability and turning control. Adding to the rider’s sense of security is the improved road grip provided by the bigger and larger front and rear tubeless rubbers mounted on sporty alloy wheels.
Another unique feature of the Honda CBR 150R is its double security lock key shutter as an effective deterrent against bike thieves.
Honda Philippines, Inc. is determined to deliver attractive mobility that excels in environmental performance and safety and which will enrich the lives of our customers while fulfilling their dreams and providing them with joy.
CBR150R is now available to all Honda Motorcycle 3S dealers nationwide with a suggested retail price of P 150,000.00.

What does it really take to shoot underwater photos?
“Are the pygmies still there?”
The spotter nods, implying something that Jan and the rest of the group already know. At about 80 ft deep, there is a white fan coral about 1 meter high in full plumage. There’s a pygmy seahorse somewhere there. That’s what we’re looking for today.
Take a grain of rice, split it in two, and then throw one half into the ocean. That grain, split, is roughly the size of one of nature’s smallest creatures. In all irony, they’re also one of the more territorial, with their tails clasping on to the veins of fan coral, their natural habitat. To add to the frustration, pygmies take on the color and texture of the host corals. Jan, the group’s fearless leader checks his buoyancy control device, fins, straps, and tank, making sure everything’s in place. Read more…
