The Music is Still “It”
June 27, 2010One year on since Michael Jackson’s untimely passing, it’s still the music that matters. And none was more ebullient than as heard on this track. It’s just a pure joy, a delight in just the sensation of the rhythms and those gorgeous arrangements (vertiginous strings, percussive frenzy) and that voice. And on this, which is astounding for how he could’ve sung a song about such heartbreak at that age and just bring it. This is popular music at its best.
